So, my photo a day adventures have come to a close – I will no longer (at least, not for another year!) be blogging a photo everyday. I’m not sure how I feel about it – in one sense, I’m totally glad that I will no longer have the obligation to post everyday – there were definitely days that I hit myself over the head for having a resolution like this. But at the same time, I know many of you out there made reading this blog a daily ritual. And for that I’m grateful – for having an outlet where my clients and friends can get to know me on a different level. It’s been a true blessing being able to show you bits of my world and my insight in the past year, and I hope you enjoyed seeing the past as well as the present of me. :) I won’t be blogging everyday this upcoming year, but I will be posting as much as I can because I still enjoy posting images, past and present. I feel like it’s given me another way for my clients and friends to bond with me. :)

re: featured in a citybeat magazine article!
What a way to end the year than with an interview in article about polaroids in San Diego’s CityBeat magazine featuring yours truly! :) Go pickup a copy (they’re free!)

re: 26 before 27.
So before I end the year, I must address something I made  a few months ago, a list of 26 things I wanted to do before I turned 27. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to finish everything, I only crossed off 12. But that’s 12 more than I had before!! You can see all the things I crossed off my list if you click on the list. I plan on making another list for when I turn 28, and this time, I’ll have much more time to accomplish everything. :) But I will keep dreaming, and I encourage you all to. :)

re: my horosope today. (so fitting)
“Making an attempt at something new, even if you fail at it miserably, is very important for you right now. Trying is what teaches you the most — far more than success would teach, actually. So don’t get caught up in looking good. The sooner you get comfortable making a fool of yourself, the more you will learn throughout your life. So if your daily routine is all about winning recognition, then you need to make some adjustments. You won’t grow if you never let yourself take a risk.” (Scorpio)

re: the end of 2008 video.

re: inspiration.

01 :: a year of mornings.
I absolutely love this book, and the blog that goes with it. Two talented artists collaborated and took a photo every morning for a year – and created a diptych from the images, without knowing what the other one photographed. The images are stunning together, and helps you noticed the little ordinary everyday things.
02 :: les parapluies de cherbourg.
I know I already mentioned this movie before, but I LOVE this movie. The colors, the music, the styling, ALL OF IT. Yes. :)
03 :: french milk.
A lovely graphic novel by a very talented young cartoonist about her six week trip to Paris with her mother. I LOVE it. It gets me geared up for one of my next goals: plan a trip to France.
04 :: feist – let it die.
I first heard this album a few years ago, and I think it’s still one of my faves to date. Love her voice.

re: a quote to end the year.
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself. – Neil Gaiman

Sacramento River, taken yesterday.

2008 is coming to a close very soon, and I thought I’d write a bit about the past year.

Obviously, the biggest thing that has been happening on this blog is the fact that I’ve been blogging an image every.single.day! It’s been a wild ride, and I will write more about it tomorrow, but I’m glad I did it. :)

I started the year with the new resolution, Martin & Chigusa’s wedding, a Salton Sea group trash the dress and headed to Dallas for a workshop. :) My first publishing in a book, being featured on trashthedress.com, as well as an article about Verlee’s trash the dress on Shutterfly. Polaroid made the announcement that they were shutting down film production this year, and my love for polaroids resurged.  Had a photoexcursion with my friend Nikki, had another group trash the dress in Palm Springs, Kim & Remo’s wedding as well as Baldwin & Larissa’s wedding and attended WPPI. I was featured on the Knot Magazine’s best of 2008, photographed Janet & Glenn, Michelle & Bill and Debra & Dean’s weddings. Celebrated Zach’s birthday, Cathy & Jamie, Katrina & Todd, Meghan & Scott, and Larry & Cindy’s wedding. Began my boudoir sessions, Apryl & Tim’s wedding, went to Chicago for another workshop, Ellen & Ash as well as Sandy & Sean’s weddings. Visited the San Diego County Fair, Hazel & Kurtis’ wedding, Melanie & Brian’s wedding, Kelly & Steve’s wedding, Stephanie & Dennis’ wedding and Lorelle & Jason’s wedding. I was also in a wedding myself as the miad of honor :) I participated in a Polaroid art show held in LA, went to a Joshua Radin concert, celebrated 7 years with Zach, Charlene & Christian and Katie & Ian’s weddings. I was featured and interviewed in San Diego’s Exquisite Weddings magazine about trash the dress sessions. Lauren & Dan’s wedding, Emmeline & Jeremiah’s wedding, Amy & Ray’s wedding, Angela & Geoff’s wedding, Melissa & Bernie’s wedding. Kristy & Sinisha’s wedding, celebrated my birthday, went to the Bay Area and back home for Thanksgiving. Then headed back home for Christmas. And here I am. On the cusp of another year.

I’d link each and every thing I listed (and I didn’t even include others shoots I did outside of weddings!) but that would take suuuuch a long time, and I’m feeling lazy. :)

What’s in store for next year? We’ll wait and see, won’t we :)

I was supposed to do a fun trash the dress session yesterday but this prevented me from doing it! :( Normally I love the rain, but yesterday would’ve been nice without it. I suppose I can feel better because I will be traveling up north, with rain in store nearly the whole time I’m there :P

There are just some paths in life that we are meant to take, and some people in life that we are meant to meet. I wholly believe Amy Seeley is definitely one of those people. Not only is she a beautiful soul, but so talented to boot. Her voice and her music just take you to a place you wish you could visit everyday. And you can through her music. And if you ever get the chance to hear her sing live, DO IT. Her voice blows you away live. Now if only she can come play publicly in San Diego soon ;)

Miss Amy has just released a new album – ‘Eight Belles,’ and I urge you all to grab yourself a copy of her beautiful tunes. You can purchase it, along with her other albums directly on her brand new website :) My favorite tune is definitely “Look Up, Look Out.” This is the first time I’ve known someone alongside their creating an album and it’s wonderful seeing herself translated through her music after getting to know her. It makes the music, as well as the art, that much sweeter, I think. :)

She’s definitely destined for great things, this one. ;)

The long awaited post! I know there are some ladies out there who are anxious for this post, so here it is! ;) Beware, this is also another massive post – I think since I started posting weddings after my clients see the images, I feel like I can post more images now :)

Amy & Ray can’t be more fabulous. :) They’re such fun and lighthearted people – and their love for Wii and Mario is so strong that they had to incorportate it into their wedding (see their details post). How fun is that?! They were married at the Immaculata with their reception at the Bristol Hotel. In between the ceremony and reception, we made a photo stop at Seaport Village because Amy really wanted a photo on the carousel! ;) We all have to let our inner kid out – more so on the wedding day, I think ;)

Amy & Ray, you guys ROCK, and I wish you only the best in your journey together :)
