Another blog to please the senses! ;) This is Trang & Doug’s trash the dress session, which they actually did before the wedding! Definitely a first for me, but that didn’t affect the shoot or the dress (which she dry cleaned for her wedding later that WEEK! & it was totally fine :) Just an FYI for all of you who are nervous to do a trash the dress because you’re afraid that you’ll ‘ruin’ the dress – that’s far from the truth! I usually don’t have you do anything that permanently ruins the dress unless you want to do something very specific or it’s something we discussed beforehand. So no worries :) A little sand & dirt don’t hurt! (I’ve even had brides who tell that after they do the session, their dress is CLEANER after going into the ocean ;))
So enjoy & stay tuned for the wedding blog ;)

I haven’t looked over all the images yet, but this one grabbed out at me while I was shooting. :) More to come!
(Can you believe that I’m posting more?! It’s still not full posts yet, but better than nothing, right?)

Happy Friday! I have a lovely post for you today – soon I shall be posting weddings again! It’s been a while, simply because wedding posting takes SO much time to do (how the heck did I blog once a day, anyway?!), so stay tuned cause I have amazing weddings to post!
Rachel & Jason were married a few years ago, but wanted to have some creative photos, so we did a trash the dress session to allow for that! Rachel is also an amazing wedding coordinator, so do check her out if you need one ;) Makeup by the wonderful Meagan Tyson ;)

Cathy & Erik, one of my fave couples of all time! They’ve done an engagement session, Cathy a boudoir, their wedding and now their Trash the Dress/Post Wedding session with me (view their teasers). And now I’m sad! We don’t have any more shoots to do, at least not for now :P
We trekked up to the snow for this shoot – we wanted something totally different and something not normal to San Diego – what better than snow?! It was freeeeezing cold (of course, my San Diegan self thought “oh, it’s sunny, it shouldn’t be too bad, right?” WRONG!) but it was totally worth it. We got amazing images, and here they are!
Huge thanks to Cathy & Erik (especially Erik – poor guy would put on Cathy’s coat in between shots that he was in – lol) for being such troopers in the cold!
Plus, a bonus – view their slideshow I made from the session! <3 Enjoy :)
Edit to add: I totally meant to add this but forgot when I was actually posting – I just wanted to give a plug to Cathy’s fabulous invite business – Love at First Invite! She’s so talented – just check out her work! :)

Unusual for a couple to do a “trash the dress” session a WEEK before the wedding, but these two did! More to come soon :)
And, I hope to post more consistently too! I miss you, my dear readers :)

This is another amazingly overdue post! Tim & Apryl (otherwise known as TnA ;)) got married last June (their wedding post here) and did a trash the dress with me a few months later. They decided to do the session at Tim’s grandmother’s house out in El Cajon, which was so fun because it so so different, unique to them, held sentimental value (Tim pretty much grew up there) and it was AWESOME! The house had so much family history and character. Various elements were hand done by family (like the front door which was carved), and other stuff you just don’t see anymore (horse stables, it’s own water tower!!). I had such a blast – I always love photographing something so different and so special to the couple. :) Plus Tim and Apryl are fabulous people and I feel like we have become such friends over the period that I have been shooting them! Big hugs to you two ;)
Enjoy the images! :)

My first post & teaser post for 2009! And it couldn’t be for a more fabulous couple ;) More to come sooon. :)

P.S. Snow is cold. Especially for shooting. Don’t let others tell you differently.
P.P.S. It’s actually quite strange not posting everyday, but nice at the same time, I hope I don’t get insanely behind in blogging! lol

Get ready to experience the awesomeness that is Kelly & Steve, part two ;)

These two get two parts cause they’re that awesome :) You may remember these two love birds from their bomb-tastic wedding a few months ago, and they came back for more! We did their trash the dress session not long after their wedding, with the beginnings in the downtown Gaslamp area. I seriously love these two – it’s a photographer’s dream to have a couple who have 110% confidence in their photographer… not only confidence, but comfort, fun and a “sure! we’ll do whatever” ;) (and with Steve saying while lying on the ground “It smells like pee….”) Hey, anything for art! ;)
And the gorgeous guitar? A very lucky groom got it from his very lucky bride on their wedding day ;) Very lucky indeed.
Stay tuned for part two tomorrow where we headed to Coronado, which I can’t wait to post!! It’s worth the 24 hour wait. I promise. :)

These two got their beginnings together at Starbucks, so it was only appropriate to make a visit ;)

Just cause I know they wanted to see a few more teasers! ;)

Gor-geous! Can’t wait to show the rest! ;)
& thanks to everyone who voted for me for the A*list Best Wedding Photographer! Much, much appreciated :) Not sure what time polls officially end so keep it up! :)
Random thoughts tomorrow – it’s about time for a new one :)

Maybe another teaser later this week? ;) & more to come of course.

So thrilled to mention that I am featured in the recent Exquisite Weddings magazine! I was one of the photographers contacted a few months back to be interviewed for an article about trash the dress sessions and I am thrilled beyond belief not only to be quoted in the article, but have three beautiful images in it as well!
You can check the whole article out online (the article begins on page 50, but the images above are on page 52) or you can find copies at the bookstores :)
So thrilled cause this is my first true publishing, I’d say :)
