This beautiful, fun-filled wedding was held at San Diego’s oldest synagogue, and the second oldest in the American West with the reception at the amazingly awesome New Children’s museum! This was a beautiful wedding, and I am honored to have been a part of it. Plus, who wouldn’t want to photograph inside a rainbow bounce tube?! ;)

This was a wedding filled with fun, games, corgi’s as ring bearers, tree planting, & love. I was kind of obsessed with the ivy, if you couldn’t already tell. So lovely. This is quite possibly the most image heavy post I have ever done. I apologize for slowing down your internets, but Emily & Aaron’s wedding is well worth it! Some of you may recognize Emily – she is one of my regular second shooters, one of my dear friends and one of the most stylish and creative people I know. So when she asked me to photograph her wedding this year, I was more than thrilled, as I knew it would be a major creative lovefest! Throughout the year, I saw Emily crafting and crafting and to see it all come together in this one beautiful event was amazing. The day was certainly a celebration of love, community, and the joy of being a kid again. :) I am soooo happy for these two, I am so thrilled to finally be able to share with you all these gorgeous images!

old friends + wonderful people + TREES! = <3

I love that I have so many old friend’s weddings this year. I have known Carolyn since elementary school and many of my young childhood school memories included her. I was so excited when she reached out to me to photograph her wedding because I hadn’t seen her in years! To be honest, I was quite nervous about this day, because I knew I would be seeing some old faces, but my worry was totally unwarranted. :) I had a grand ‘ole time, and I was so honored to have been able to capture this day for them. Many years of love, life & happiness, you two!

P.S. I just loved her dress, and her HAIR! I’m totally loving all the braids I’ve been seeing lately. :) And of course, all the trees :D

Anna & Rex were married late last year (you might remember their fun engagement session!) and I am finally blogging their lovely wedding! These two are such awesome people, and I am so glad I was able to capture their lovely day. (Can we just talk about how amazing her dresses were?! Love!)

I love small weddings, they are such a gathering of love because it’s mostly just the closest friends and family who are there. Each moment and each thing that is done is done with purpose and meaning, because most of the unnecessary things are stripped away and that allows for focus to be on the couple that are joining together, and the love that everyone shares. :) Natalia and Chris were married on a Monday morning at Flat Rock in Torrey Pines, a 20 min walk from the closest parking location, but it was worth it, for the intimacy of the special occasion. Right after marrying, they moved the Australia, which I am so jealous about! You two are going to have such a wonderful time together and I hope that if you guys do move to San Diego after your Australian adventure, we’ll definitely keep in touch :)

Flashback to days where we would spend afternoons in the school campus, marking time, drumming away and twirling flags. This is how I initially met Courtney, in the high school marching band. So when she approached me to photograph her wedding, I was thrilled! Everything was bunny filled and amazing — we were even treated to real live bunnies during the wedding! And did you know the best way to make Courtney laugh was to say “BUNNIES!!!”? ;) We used that quite a bit throughout the day ;)

Yay for new wedding posts! I have yet to share Elma & Tony’s engagement session (which is TOTALLY ADORABLE and kind of upset at myself for not posting it yet), but I’m trying to make a resolution with myself which seems to be working so far – blogging images right after I finish editing them. And for all the people & sessions I have not blogged yet – don’t fret! I will get around to you, I just want to try and get the ball rolling on the blog again. :)

early morning wedding + absolutely no sleep + salt of the earth people = <3

These two are salt of the earth people. Truly, truly. One of the things I love about weddings are the amazing people I get to meet and get to know, and these two are close to the very top of my list. People who are open, and surround themselves with the same type of open & amazing people make wedding a pure joy to photograph. Especially when I had absolutely NO SLEEP the night before. Yes, you heard me right. The night before this wedding was one of those nights where I just simply could not fall asleep and it was an early day, so we shot the day on pretty much no sleep. And I have to say, I couldn’t be happier with how it all came together. Of course, when you have such wonderful people, it just makes your job easier :)

My favorite part about almost all these images? Everyone’s expressions. So genuine, and so filled with love. It makes me filled with warmth. :)

P.S. If you have noticed, yes, this wedding isn’t recent at all. I’ve been furiously trying to catch up on blogging, and I really want to blog everything I have shot. But it’s super hard when you’re as behind on blogging as I am. So what I’m planning on doing from here on out is mixing recent shoots with past shoots. Hopefully this will allow me to catch up properly. :)

Oh gosh, I just love film. Love Love LOVE it. This last batch from the last wedding I shot had me gushing all over the place. The colors are so gorgeous. And the last image was a total double exposure accident, but I sort of really love it because it gives it this mystical quality. Yea, I love film.
