So last Saturday about 35 of us photographers, 8 brides/grooms & 4 makeup artists headed out to the Salton Sea to do a day-long trash the dress shoot! It was pretty fun, we were encouraged to shoot as many people as we could, but as always, I ended up sticking with some of the same couples. ;) If you’ve never been to the Salton Sea, it’s about 3 hours east, in this totally desolate area. The Salton Sea is actually an accident due to the damming of the Colorado River, which flooded into what is now the Salton Sea. It was promoted as a “resort” area for many decades (much like what Palm Springs is now, which is about 50 miles north I believe) until the 70′s, when multiple floods and things like that forced it to be the deserted area it is today. People actually still live in the Salton Sea area, which is amazing, I think, because it’s quite creepy with all the decaying and abandoned buildings! Of course, because of this, it makes for AWESOME photo locations, and I would honestly do it all over again if I could. Anyone interested in doing a shoot with me here? Let me know ;)

I’ll have to post more (or at least more behind the scenes/non-bride&groom photos) another time! Plus I have so many engagement shoots that I need to post! More to come soooon. :)

Awesome shots!!! It was so fun wasn’t it. Although, I do agree with you about it being creepy! Have a great day!
You are too much. I am seen so many great things coming from you lately that I haven’t commented on. It looks like you are having an amazing year so far and we are only in the first month still. Your creativity is going off the charts and I can see your passion seeping from you recent work. Congrats on the big Jesh competition win…you’re a rock star. Great job. Kathy
